6th Degree Master Jason Gullion         (Owner / Chief Instructor - Marion, VA division)        Jay has been studying Martial Arts for approximately 20 years. He currently holds a 6th degree Black belt in Shotokan,1st degree in Tae Kwon Do, American Freestyle,and Shorinji Ryu. Jay was the first person ever awarded Master's level by Grandmaster Penny Shannon outside her own family. Among his studies he has earned a Basic Instructors certificate in Modern Arnis under Grandmaster Jeff Delaney. Jay also holds a 3rd degree Black Belt in Shotokan through Rising Sun Martial Arts and a 1st level in Kubudo, under Grandmaster Marc Cantrell. He has been awarded instructors certifactes through both Grandmaster's Penny Shannon and Marc Cantrell. Jay has attended training in Military Arnis under Grandmaster Lisa McManus. Among other styles he has studied is Shito Ryu, Muay Thai, Kung Fu, Aikido, Kali, Iserali combatives, Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, Small Circle Jiu-jitsu. Jay was awarded the 2000 Virginia Karate Alliance state champion title in kata and musical kata, 1st runner up in kumite and weapons.       Jay has  been inducted into the Shanaki Inner Circle Society. He is currently a member in the United States Martial Artist Association and is currently serving as Chief Instructor at Shanaki as well as the corporation's Vice President. Jay has a degree in nursing.
