History of Shanaki


       Founded over thirty years ago, Shanaki is a family owned and operated organization that takes pride in maintaining traditional values while also remaining knowledgeable and adaptable in the ongoing evolution of martial science. Achieving the rank of 7th degree Black Belt Master in Shotokan Karate and 1st Degree Black Belts in the styles of Shorinji-Ryu, Tae Kwon Do, and American Freestyle Karate, the schools founder, Penny Shannon, recognized the importance of being well-versed. The most effective and efficient techniques were extracted from these experiences and integrated into an all encompassing style that today provides it's practitioners with the capability of defending themselves in any situation.
